Vai trò của trọng tài / The role of golf referee

Vai trò của một trọng tài golf là đảm bảo người chơi tuân thủ các quy định của giải đấu và chơi đẹp. Đồng thời, họ cần đưa ra quyết định khi người chơi không biết rõ luật lệ hoặc không biết cách áp dụng trong một số trường hợp.

The job of a golf tournament referee is to ensure that the players competing follow the rules of golf and to ensure that the game is played in the correct manner. Referees should also be on hand to make decisions if players are unsure of what the rules are or how to implement them in certain situations.

Trọng tài giải quốc gia và PGA Tour / Referees in national tournaments and PGA Tour

Các trọng tài có nhiệm vụ và trách nhiệm như nhau tại mọi sự kiện golf. Họ phải bảo đảm giải đấu được chơi đúng luật và đúng tinh thần của bộ môn. Có lẽ, điểm khác nhau duy nhất giữa trọng tài trong một giải quốc gia và trọng tài trong giải PGA Tour là yêu cầu về trình độ chuyên môn và kinh nghiệm. Trọng tài trong các giải đấu của PGA Tour hay European Tour đều là những người có kiến thức và quyết định cao nhất về Luật Golf, đồng thời là những người có vị trí cao nhất trong nền giáo dục Luật Golf. Việt Nam hiện đã có một vài chuyên gia luật đạt được trình độ 3 của Luật Golf. Đây là một điều tốt cho sự phát triển của bộ môn chơi trong nước.

Golf referees should be the same at any golf event. They are there to ensure that the tournament is played as the rules require and in the correct spirit or manner of the game. If there was a difference it would be the level of qualification the Referee has achieved and the experience they have. Golf referees on the PGA Tour or European Tour would have the highest knowledge of the Rules of Golf and also the decisions and they would have the highest level of rules education. Vietnam now has several Rules Officials that have achieved Level three of the rules of golf which is great for the game in Vietnam.

Trọng tài golf và những môn thể thao khác / Referee in golf and other sports

Không có nhiều sự khác biệt giữa trọng tài golf và trọng tài các môn thể thao khác. Nhiệm vụ của một trọng tài nói chung là đảm bảo người chơi thực hiện đúng quy định của môn thể thao và giải đấu.

To be honest there is not a lot of difference between a golf referee and those officiating in other sports. A referee’s job is to ensure that those competing in whatever sport they play abide by and follow the rules that govern their respective sport.

Quyết định cuối cùng / Final decision

Giám đốc giải đấu là người đưa ra quyết định cuối cùng. Tuy nhiên, trọng tài là người đưa ra những lời khuyên về luật trên sân. Nếu người chơi không đồng ý với trọng tài thì người đó có quyền chơi lại rồi sau khi kết thúc vòng đấu sẽ gặp giám đốc giải đấu và trọng tài để cùng bàn lại vấn đề. Sau đó giám đốc giải đấu sẽ đưa ra quyết định cuối cùng. Ban tổ chức sự kiện thường không liên quan đến những quyết định này.

The Tournament Director should be the person whose decision is final however the Referee is the person who advises on the rules on the course. If a player does not agree with the Referee he or she has the right to play a second ball and then at the completion of their round can meet with the Tournament Director and the Rules Referee to discuss the issue faced. The Tournament Director then makes the final decision and the ruling is then final. The Organizer of the event should not be involved in such decisions.

Trọng tài chuyên nghiệp ở Việt Nam / Professional referees in Vietnam

Các trọng tài Việt Nam nên được đào tạo càng nhiều càng tốt. Ai cũng có thể trở thành một trọng tài nếu họ quan tâm và hứng thú với Luật Golf. Sẽ rất có ích nếu chính bản thân họ là những golf thủ có niềm đam mê mãnh liệt đối với bộ môn và có khả năng xử lí tốt các tình huống golf.

Trong những năm vừa qua, đã có nhiều golf thủ Việt Nam được đào tạo để trở thành trọng tài cũng như được làm trọng tài tại giải Hồ Tràm Open của Asian Tour. Đây là một trải nghiệm tuyệt vời giúp họ có cơ hội được gặp và làm việc cùng các golf thủ, trọng tài và các chuyên gia. Họ càng tham gia nhiều các sự kiện của PGA Tour hoặc các giải đấu chuyên nghiệp hàng đầu, họ càng học hỏi và rút được nhiều kinh nghiệm, và bộ môn chơi càng được phát triển ở Việt Nam. Chúng tôi hy vọng sẽ được nhìn thấy tất cả golf thủ Việt Nam đều biết và tuân thủ Luật Golf.

The more Referees that Vietnam can have trained the better. Anyone can become a referee if they are interesting in the Rules of Golf. It helps if they are golfers, have a passion for the sport and are very level headed to deal with the situations they will find themselves in.
Over the past few years Vietnam has seen a number of players train to be referees and they were included as Referee in the recent Ho Tram Open Asian Tour Event. Being involved in such events is the best experience they could get. They get to see the professional players, referees and officials at work. The more they get to participate in PGA Tour Events or leading amateur tournaments the more they will learn and experience, and the better this will be for the game in Vietnam. We all hope to see all golfers in Vietnam follow the Rules of Golf.
