Recent export revenue for the products increased by approximately 9.5% per year to over $2.2 billion, making them one of the 10 product groupings with the largest export revenue in Vietnam. With 35% of all export sales, the US is the main market for Vietnamese handmade products.

While visiting the Vietnam national booth at the exhibition, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN) in New York, expressed the hope that Vietcraft would continue to collaborate closely with Vietnamese representative organizations in the US to increase the market share of Vietnamese handicrafts in the US, helping to support job creation and the long-term rural development of Vietnam.

As part of a national trade promotion initiative run by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam joined the biennial NY Now exhibition for the first time in 2004.
