Vietnam values extensive partnership with Hungary

DNVN - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated on July 28 in Hanoi at a reception for Hungarian Ambassador Ory Csaba that, Vietnam attaches great importance to its multifaceted cooperation with Hungary, Vietnam first comprehensive partner among its traditional friends in Central Eastern Europe.

The President lauded the diplomat's exemplary tenure and positive contributions to bilateral relations, explaining that Vietnamese State’s friendship order bestowed upon him was to acknowledge such distinct services.

With a history spanning more than 70 years, Vietnam and Hungary have a longstanding friendship and successful multifaceted cooperation, according to Phuc. He commended the positive developments in these ties over the years, particularly the regular meetings and interactions between the two leaders of the two nations.

He added that the two countries have supported each other both bilaterally and multilaterally at international fora as the State, Government, and People of Vietnam always remember Hungary's valuable support for Vietnam in its causes of revolution and national construction.

Phuc thanked Hungary for its prompt donation of 265,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and related medical supplies, its active support for the signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), and its ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

He also valued Hungary's pledge to provide Vietnam with a preferential loan of 440 millionEURand 200 annual scholarships for Vietnamese students.

The president informed his guest that Vietnam is assisting in the establishment of a Hungarian community and cultural center in Hanoi.

Ory Csaba, for his part, stated that Vietnam is Hungary's most important partner in the region and that the two countries have had a good relationship for a long time.

 

The diplomat expressed gratitude for the assistance he received in Vietnam during his tenure and pledged to continue contributing to the development of bilateral relations in the future.
