Laos and Vietnam improve military ties

DNVN - Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence, stated on July 18 that the Lao and Vietnamese armies will always work together to overcome obstacles and continue to defend revolutionary achievements.

Chien briefed on the Vietnamese Defence Ministry's plan to organize activities in the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, focusing primarily on high-ranking delegation exchange, training, drills, border exchange, and exhibitions, during a meeting with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Chansamone Chanyalath in Vientiane.

In response, Chansamone Chanyalath praised the past cooperation between the two ministries, highlighting the exchange of delegations at all levels, collaboration in Party and political work, training, and border management and protection.

He expressed his hope that Vietnamese and Lao competent agencies will better coordinate this year to implement cooperation contents and discuss cooperation orientations, thereby contributing to the consolidation of bilateral defense ties.
