Trong suốt thời kỳ Tam Quốc, viên võ tướng có võ nghệ cao cường nhất không ai qua mặt được Thường Sơn Triệu Tử Long. Trải qua trăm trận không thua một ai, nên trong chính sử ông có mỹ danh “Đánh khắp thiên hạ không địch thủ”. Quan Vũ cũng là danh tướng rất lợi hại.
Cùng với Thủy Hử, Tây Du Ký và Hồng Lâu mộng, “Tam Quốc diễn nghĩa” của La Quán Trung là một cuốn tiểu thuyết lịch sử xuất hiện cuối Nguyên đầu Minh, thế kỷ XV viết về “Tam Quốc”, tức ba nước Ngụy, Thục, Ngô cùng tồn tại...
Trên thực tế, thiên hạ đều xử sự làm ra vẻ chính nhân quân tử, chỉ Tào Tháo dám nghĩ sao nói vậy, dù có dối trá nhưng dám công khai nói ra điều dối trá đó.
Trần Thọ khi biên soạn Tam quốc chí đã đưa Tôn Kiên, Tôn Sách vào chung một quyển, gọi là Tôn Phá Lỗ, Thảo Nghịch truyện.
Sở hữu nhiều mưu cao kế hiểm, vị mưu sĩ này đã đánh bật nhiều quân sư nức tiếng cùng thời như Gia Cát Lượng, Bàng Thống... để trở thành đệ nhất mưu sĩ thời Tam Quốc.
Tào Tháo là một tướng tài cuối thời Đông Hán trong lịch sử Trung Quốc. Tuy nhiên Tào Tháo có nhược điểm chết người là thói háo dâm vô độ.
Tào Tháo - Đại gian hùng thời Tam Quốc còn chiêu mộ hàng ngàn phương sĩ khắp nơi để nghiên cứu “phòng trung thuật”, sau đó dùng các mỹ nhân thu nạp làm “vật thí nghiệm”.
Phần lớn độc giả biết về Tào Tháo qua Tam Quốc Diễn Nghĩa với ngòi bút của La Quán Trung. Trong truyện, Tào Tháo là gian thần nham hiểm xảo quyệt, tàn bạo bất nhân, nhiều mưu lắm kế, nhưng những miêu tả này vô tình lại làm tổn hại hình tượng thực sự của Tào Tháo.
Tây Thi, Điêu Thuyền, Vương Chiêu Quân, Dương Quý Phi, mỗi người mỗi vẻ, tài sắc vẹn toàn nhưng đại bộ phận thơ ca, sách sử và dân chúng đều ngầm xếp hạng Tây Thi là "hoa hậu".
