Corona Virus: China adjusts customs clearance time, Agency of Foreign Trade issues recommendations to Vietnamese enterprises

DNVN – Agency of Foreign Trade (AFT) – Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) - Vietnam has issued recommendations to localities, industry associations, businesses, traders, farmer households as well as related organizations and individuals about China’s customs clearance time during Corona Virus.

According to the schedule announced before Lunar New Year, China will officially open borders for import and export activities on January 31, 2020.

However, the Bingzsiengz Si Foreign Trade and Economic Committee (China) has recently announced the closure of trading at regional markets from January 31 to February 8, 2020 and will officially re-open on February 9, 2020 (except Huu Nghi Quan international border gate will open on February 3, 2020) to ensure the prevention of Corona virus.

Similarly, the Steering Committee of Hekou (China) announced the closure of trading at regional markets until the end of February 8, 2020.

To avoid affecting the speed of customs clearance and causing congestion at the border gate area, AFT – MOIT (Vietnam) has issued recommendations to localities, commodity associations, businesses, traders, farmer households as well as related organizations and individuals about the closure of trading in Bingzsiengz Si and Hekou to proactively set the transporting time in order to ensure the quality of goods and avoid being subject to pressure or price restriction.

AFT proposed that every related party should closely monitor changes in the export of agricultural and aquatic products, especially fruits in the Northern border provinces such as Lang Son, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang… in order to control their plan in manufacturing, packaging, delivering and exporting.
