This decision was made by WHO after the meeting of the Emergency Committee on International Medical Regulations (IHR) on January 30 (Geveva time).
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoan, Deputy Chief of the Office in charge of the Ministry of Justice's spokesperson, this morning, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Justice are meeting to discuss the issue of legal documents to declare an emergency situation on corona virus epidemic.
After this meeting, the Ministry of Health will immediately report to the Prime Minister the declaration of an emergency situation.
According to the Ministry of Health, as of 6am this morning, the world has recorded 9,807 cases of corona virus infection, 213 deaths, 115 cases outside China.
In Vietnam, there are 5 people infected with corona virus, including 2 Chinese patients (1 has recovered) and 3 Vietnamese are being treated at Thanh Hoa provincial hospital and Central Tropical Hospital in Dong Anh, Hanoi.
Currently, the number of suspected cases in Vietnam is 97, of which 65 have been tested negative for coronavirus and 32 cases continue to be isolated and closely monitored so as not to infect the community.
There are also 43 cases of normal health, no signs of fever, cough, but are still under observation due to close contact with people suspected of coronary infection.
On January 30, the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology confirmed three cases of Vietnamese people who were positive for nCoV and had a history of returning from Wuhan, China. Thus, there are currently 5 recorded cases in Vietnam including 2 cases of Chinese people who are currently isolated and treated at Cho Ray Hospital.
To deal with the Corona epidemic, the Ministry of Health has decided to set up 45 mobile teams to respond quickly to nCoV acute respiratory infections.
The Ministry of Health also recommends that people avoid traveling if they have fever, cough or shortness of breath. Immediately seek medical attention when symptoms become suspicious. Also share your travel schedule with medical staff.
Avoid contact with people with fever and cough. Wash your hands often with soap and avoid touching your face, nose, and mouth.
When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or a sleeve. After using paper towels put in the trash and wash your hands.
If you see signs of being sick while traveling, immediately notify aviation, rail, car personnel and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Only use cooked foods. Do not spit indiscriminately in public. Avoid close contact with pets or wild animals.
Wear a mask when going to a crowded place or when coming in contact with someone who has symptoms.
